I think what I like best about stories about soldiers is the fact that there is no privacy. I mean, wartime comes and you’re gonna be covered in each other’s piss, shit, blood and various other bodily fluids, so modesty hardly seems an issue. Neither does personal space — the two foot bubble doesn’t really exist in a foxhole.
