Harriet Potter by maaria

Wow. I didn’t realize just how over populated with male characters the Harry Potter books were until I saw this gender swap.

For my Gender and the Body class.
This is my artistic reaction to the Starfire controversy. I was going to draw her teammates in her outfit- or them in her pose- but instead I drew her as a man. I call him. Manfire. To illustrate how stupid these poses are and how un-empowering they are. This goes with my paper titled:
The Issue that Melted the Internet: The Continued Objectification of Women in Comics
One of these days I will post it online. It is incredibly long but here is this.
I have re-appropriated the background from the original comic book.

the story of two women in their 30’s who lead a group to end the cuban missile crisis and debate passionately about social injustice, one very angry and the other fond of shit your grandma would wear but bags the men like groceries anyway
i bet this movie wouldn’t make very much money unless ms. magneto used her powers in a bdsm-y way every other scene or if they actually made out

serenity-fails:

Inception sex swap! I did this last year and it is still one of my favorite things. Mostly Eames, though, because in my head canon Eames is so very genderqueer <3

foreverremusxsirius wanted some more girl versions of Sherlock and John. So here they are after the announcement of a locked room triple homicide with no obvious murder weapon.
I quite like doing these quick sketches now =]

I want Ms. Sherlock’s wardrobe!

I wanted to draw something but I’ve just been so everywhere lately I can’t seem to actually get something down. Then Femvengers Steve and Tony happened really quickly. Better than nothing, I guess.

Genderswap that doesn’t assume longer hair yes yes yes
Jeez I cannot stop staring at this one.

Star Trek-Presented by The Girls on Film

It’s a Star-Trek genderswap!

What is “The Girls on Film”?

According to their website:

The Girls on Film is an interactive film blog that remakes guy-on-guy movie scenes for your viewing pleasure. Its our innovative way of sharing our passion for storytelling and injecting our own personal cocktail of fun and friskiness throughout the galaxy.

According to me? It’s a really interesting examination and subversion of the kinds of roles women are allowed to play in movies. I love the concept, and it makes me wish so hard that there were more bar-fighting, shit-talking women on the big screen!
